Osman Yılmaz and German Aliza Ludwig, who met in a hotel in Antalya, combined their lives with a wedding that held in Hakkari in accordance with Kurdish traditions and customs.
Alize Ludwig, 28, who went to Antalya from Dortmund, Germany, for vacation last year, and Osman Yılmaz, 27, a hotel employee from Hakkari, decided to get married after a year of friendship. Having received the approval of their families, Yılmaz and Ludwig got married with the wedding held in the area in Merzan District. The guests who attended the wedding, which lasted for two days, shared the happiness of the young couple by dancing the halay.
Yılmaz said that after graduating from Bilgi University, he went to Antalya 1.5 years ago so as to work. Yılmaz said that he met Ludwig while working at the hotel and that they were friends for a while.
“He came to visit me from time to time. So I introduced her to my family. Then we decided to get married. I introduced the Hakkari region. She loved this place. Our people are very hospitable. Thank you to everyone who attended the wedding. According to our tradition, the wedding is held for two days and two nights. My wife’s mother is also here. She is very happy as well. It’s the first time she’s seen something like this. We plan to stay in Germany from now on. My wife was very surprised by the attention she received here. Everyone is very involved. She didn’t expect that attention either.”

Ludwig, on the other hand, stated that she was happy to be in the city and said, “There are not so many people attending weddings in Germany. It’s not that colorful. Everyone is very involved here. I am very excited and very happy. I love my husband. I’m shocked. There are different traditions here. “I love Turkey,” she said.
